Audio Crit. Session Feedback

Our seminar group had a sound crit. session last Thursday (14/11/13) where we had to present our sound drafts to the rest of the group for feedback. I found this to be very helpful as after listening to what Hannah and myself had recorded for this session was not what we wanted at all and we realised we need to record sounds that clearly communicate to the listener what our concept is. Our overall concept for the 'Sense of Place' audio project is to record sounds that are taken throughout a lifetime of memories in a 'life flashing before your eyes' way, through the use of audio.

We received a lot of useful feedback from Debbie and from some of the seminar group that have helped us realise we need a lot more recognisable sounds from different stages of a persons life, e.g. childhood, adolescence, adult life and elderly life. For the audio for the childhood stage we need to record more sounds of toys, children playing and laughter at a park. The adolescence stage will include sounds of skateboarding, sounds of a group of teenagers hanging out, school bells and music. And for the adult stage we want to create sounds that show achievements (e.g. graduation, job interviews), wedding bells, pub sounds. And finally to show eldery life we'll record hospital sounds and included sounds of children again to show that this person who's 'memory' we are seeing is a grandparent. Here's a full list of the idea's for sounds Hannah and I will be recording for these memories.
